Question 52390: Could someone please explain this problem: graph the line that passes through the point (3, -2) that has a slope of 4/3. Thanks

Think about the general form of the graph(linear).

y,x are variables; m is slope; c is Y intercept
So substitude the slope to create a base function with unknown c
y = 4/3x + c

Now use the co-ordinates in the function

-2 = 4/3*3 + c
-2 = 4 + c
c = -2-4
c = -6
So your new complete equation will be,
Y= 4/3x-6
Now use different of x values Eg:-1,0,1 to generate more y values and make out the points, or Ucan use the y intercept and the given point as two points to draw the line
