Question 514049: equation for the line that passes through the points (-4,-8) and (8,4)
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
-4 -8 8 4

slope m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
( 4 - -8 )/( 8 - -4 )
( 12 / 12 )
m= 1

Plug value of the slope and point ( -4 , -8 ) in
Y = m x + b
-8.00 = -4 + b
b= -8 - -4
b= -4
So the equation will be
Y = x -4
