Question 506671: What is the solution for the following system of linear equations?
x+6y=-4
3x-4y=10

Answer by jennywecas(28)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
first make your equation x+6y=-4 equal x by subtracting 6y from both sides so you have x= -4-6y. Now substitute that equation into 3x-4y=10. Your new equation would look like 3(-4-6y)-4y=10. so -12-18y-4y=10. add 12 to both sides so your new equation is -22y=22. y=-1 now substitute that answer into x=-4-(-1)
x=-3 so your answer is (-3,-1)
