Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the slope of the y intercept form that passes through the point (6,-3) and is perpendicular to the line
Given y=(9/7)x + 2
The line perpendicular to it has slope=m=-7/9
The equation you want is y=mx+b
You are told x=6, y=-3, and you now know m=-7/9
Substitute to find "b", as follows:
-3=(-7/9)6+b
-18/6 =-42/6 + b
b=24/6=4
EQUATION:
y=(-7/9)x+4 is the line perpendicular to the given line and passing through
the point (6,3).
