Question 479495: What is the equation of a line that passes through (-1, 8) and has a slope of -1/4?
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x1 y1 x2 y2
4 6 6 12

m= -0.25 => - 1/ 4

Plug value of the slope and point (-1 ,8) in
Y = m x + b
8.00 = 0.25 + b
b= 8 -0.25
b= 7.75
So the equation will be
Y = -0.25 x + 7.75
