Question 47891: The task is to create a straight line graph representing the increase in weight that an athlete lifts over time as he follows a workout regimen. It does not come from a text book as I came up with it as a homework assignment. I now have to show graphic representation. It made sense to me that this would be a straightline graph but I'm just not sure how to set up the equation as such.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you put age on the x-axis and weight on the y-axis
the numbers on the x-axis might go from 0 to 85
and the numbers on the y-axis from 1 lb. to 200 lb.
Wouldn't the maximum weight lifted be when the man is
around age 35? Wouln't the points follow a curve?
maybe the shape of a parabola?
Cheers,
Stan H.
