Question 477041: Okay so I have two questions. I have tried to work them both the way our examples showed and the way a friend of mine showed and I cannot get the answer right. Please help I want to understand what I am doing wrong so I can finally get this right.
Find the intercepts and then use them to graph the equation. 5y-15=5x
Find the slope if it exists. y=-6x+8
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the intercepts and then use them to graph the equation.
5y-15=5x
Divide thru by 5 to simplify the work.
y-3 = x
Solve for "y":
y = x+3
---
To get the intercepts:
x-int?: Let y = 0, then x = -3
y-int?: Let x = 0, the y = 3
----
Plot the intercepts and draw a lint thru them:
Plot: (-3,0) and (0,3)
Graph:
==============================================
Find the slope if it exists. y=-6x+8
Since the equation is already in slope-intercept form,
slope = -6
