Question 466492: Question is found in Sect 3.5 #86 of Bittinger, ellenbogan,n..Elementary and Intermediate Algebra: Concepts and Applications 5th edition
Slope of the line is -2/3 but the numbering on one of the axis is missing. How many unitsshould each tick mark on that unnumbered axis represent?
y-axis coordinates (-5,3)
x-axis coordinates (3,5) I think!!
Please help asap

You will have to count how many tick marks the y-value changes for each tick mark on the x-axis. Suppose that if you are moving along the line and you move z tick marks down for every tick mark moved right on the x-axis. Given this, you will have to note how many units a tick mark on the x-axis is, and set the slope (change in y over change in x) equal to -2/3.

I cannot solve this now because I do not have a diagram, nor are the points (-5,3), (3,5) of any use to me (this line actually has positive slope, not slope of -2/3).
