Hi
Find EQ, in slope-intercept form, of the line that contains the points (-1, 8) and (4, 3)?
Using the point-slope formula,
(-1, 8)
(4, 3) m = 5/ -5 = -1
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y = -x + b
8 = 1 + b
7 = b
y = -x + 7
