Question 465027: solve using the elimimnation method 5x-3y=8 -5x+y=4
Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x-3 y=8 .............1
-5x+y=4 .............2

multiply (1)by 1
Multiply (2) by 3
5 x -3 y = 8
-15 x 3 y = 12
Add the two equations
-10 x = 20
/ -10
x = -2
plug value of x in (1)
5 x + -3 y = 8
-10 + -3 y = 8
-3 y = 8 + 10
-3 y = 18
y = -6
