The solution set for this equation contains the origin. Therefore, the x and y intercepts are the same point, namely the origin (0,0).

how do I find the x and y intercept in: y=-8x
-----
The y axis is the line where x is always zero.
So you let x = 0 and solve for "y" to get the y-intercept.
In you case you get y = -8*0 = 0
So the y-intercept is (0,0)
---
Similary the x-axis is the line where y is always zero.
So you let y = 0 and you solve for "x".
You get -8x = 0
x = 0
So the x-intercept is (0,0)
============
Ans: (0,0) is the x and the y intercept.
