Question 454151: I cannot seem to get this..
Through ( -2, 11); perpendicular to -2x + 4y = 28
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4y=2x+28
Divide by 4
y= 1/2 x 7
Compare this equation with y=mx+b
slope m = 0.50
The slope of a line perpendicular to the above line will be the negative reciprocal -2
m1*m2=-1
The slope of the required line will be -2.00
m= -2.00 ,point (-2,11)
Find b by plugging the values of m & the point in
y=mx+b
11=4.00 +b
b=7
m=-2
The required equation is y=-2x+7
