You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0.5%282.6x-4%29%2B+2.3%281.4x-5%29=0
First expand the brackets:
%281.3x-2%29%2B%283.22x-11.5%29=0
Now simplify:
4.52x-13.5=0
4.52x=13.5
x=13.5%2F4.52
x=2.987
I hope this helps.
P.S. I am trying to start up my own homework help website. I would be extremely grateful if you would e-mail me some feedback on the help you received to adam.chapman@student.manchester.ac.uk

well, I made a mistake:here is the correct answer (it should be 5/10 not 2/10)
5/10(26x/10-4)+23/10(14x/10-5)=130x/20-20/10+322x/20-115/10=
=452x/20-135/10= (226x-135)/10=22.6x-13.5
If you meant your problem to be an equation than:
226x/10-135/10=0
187x=135
x=0.72
sorry
