You will need graphing paper for this problem. First thing I do is turn the less than or greater than into equal signs. Second turn the equations into the slope-intercept form of an equation y=mx+b. Solve for b. This will be your point on the y-axis and use the slope to graph your second point. This is when you will have to remeber the less than greater than equalities. These should intersect.

2nd: Sketch that boundary as a dashed line.
3rd: Since you want y < (1/2)x-(3/2), shade the
half-plane BELOW the boundary.

y =(-3/2)x +3
2nd: Sketch that as a dashed line.
