where 'm' is the slope and 'b' is the y-intercept
y = 2x - 3
slope = 2
y-int = -3
Go to the point (-3) on the y-axis. For the slope (2/1 or -2/-1), either go two units up and one to the right or two units down and one to the left.
SLOPE(M) = y-units(up or down)/x-units(right or left)
+ means up or right
- means down or left
