Answer by shree840(260)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(6x+7)/(4x-1)=(3x+8)/2x-4)
cross multiply
(6x+7)(2x-4)=(3x+8)(4x-1)
12x^2-24x+14x-28=12x^2-3x+32x-8
12 x^2 cancels
-10x-28=29x-8
-39x=20
x=-20/39 ANS

((6x+7)/(4x-1))=((3x+8)/(2x-4))
For this type of problem you don't need an LCM.
First you should cross multiply.
(4x-1)(3x+8)=(6x+7)(2x-4) Then expand.
12x^2-3x+32x-8=12x^2+14x-24x-28 Combine like terms.
12x^2+29x-8=12x^2-10x-28
12x^2-12x^2+29x+10x=8-28
39x=-20
x=-20/39 ans.
