Answer by www.mathmartian.com(5) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In order to find the slope and y-intercept, you must remember the slope-intercept formula y=mx+b
m=slope and b=y-intercept
For y=x+2, the m, or slope is 1 and the b, or y-intercept is 2
For y=-1/6x-1/2, the m, or slope is -1/6 and the b, or y-intercept is -1/2
Good luck and don't forget this formula! It is going to come up over and over again:)

The slope in the general formula
y=mx+b is m and the y-intercept is b.
so
(i) m=1 and b=2
(ii) and .
For an extent view the slope is in the equation y=mx and every other one of the form y=mx+b ,
so if you plug x=0 you have that is y=b.
And the point (0,b) is on the y-axis...and belongs to graph of the equation...
