Question 424209: Write an equation for this situation: The cost,T, in hundreds of dollars, at one community college is 6 more than 1/3 the number of credits, c. Then graph the equation and use the graph to determine the cost of tuition if a student registers for 12 credits.
All I've come up with is T=6+1/3c and I can't figure out where to go from there. I'm so confused! Thanks for your help in advance.

Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write an equation for this situation:
The cost,T, in hundreds of dollars, at one community college is 6 more than 1/3 the number of credits, c.
T(c) = (1/3)c+6
------------------------
Then graph the equation
You need two points:
If c = 0, T = 6
If c = 3, T = 7
Plot the two points: (0,6) and (3,7)
Draw the graph thru those two points.
---
------
Use the graph to determine the cost of tuition
if a student registers for 12 credits.
---
T(12) = (1/3)*12+6 = 10 hundred dollars = $1000.00
