yes or no

Determine whether the ordered pair is a solution of the inequality.
(9,10);5y - 6x > 2

We replace x by the first number (9)
We replace y by the second number (10)

     5y - 6x > 2

5(10) - 6(9) > 2

Now we simplify the left side to find out whether it
will turn out to be true or false:

     50 - 54 > 2

          -4 > 2

That is false, so that means (9,10) is NOT a solution.
