In this problem it looks like you want to get x by it self or on one side
7x+6= 2x +2 First you want to get the x's on one side, subtract 2x on both sides
-2x -2x This will give you
5x+6=2 subtract 6 on both sides
-6 -6
5x=2 divide 5 on both sides
x= 2/5
