find the linear equation passing through (4,2) (-3,5)

Using the point-slope formula, 

( 4,2) 

(-3,5)  m = -3/7

 



y = (-3/7)x + b   |using ordered pair Pt(4,2) to solve for b

2 = -12/7 + b

26/7 = b

y = (-3/7)x + 26/7
