Hi
Using the point-slope formula,
(-3,-5)
(-7,-6) m = [ -5-(-6)[ / [-3 -(-7)] = 1/4
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
y = (1/4)x + b |using ordered pair Pt(-3,-5) to solve for b
-5 = (1/4)*-3 + b
-20/4 = -3/4 + b
-17/4 = b
y = (1/4)x -17/4
