Question 397753: Hello! I have a few questions here which all relate to one another and I am having equal difficulty in completing. I will appreciate any and all answers.
Problem: Given A(1, 5); B(6, 2); C(-6, -4); and D(-3, 1) answer the following.
1)Find the slope of line AB.
2)Find the length of line CD. (Round to nearest tenth's place.)
3)Find the midpoint of line BD. (Express in terms of fractions.)
4)Find (a) the slope and (b) the y-intercept of the line with the equation 4x+2y=6.
Thank you so much!!!! I eagerly await your solution. Thanks in advance for all
of your help! :D

Problem: Given A(1, 5); B(6, 2); C(-6, -4); and D(-3, 1) answer the following.
:
1)Find the slope of line AB.
Find the slope using the slope formula: m =
Assign the given points for A & B as follows
x1=1; y1=5
x2=6; y2=2
m = = = is the slope of line AB
:
2)Find the length of line CD. (Round to nearest tenth's place.)
Use the dist equation: d =
Assign the given points for C & D as follows
x1=-6; y1=-4
x2=-3; y2=1
d =
Which is
d = = d = = = = 5.8 is the length of CD
:
3)Find the midpoint of line BD. (Express in terms of fractions.)
Use the mid=point formula: mp = ,
Assign the BD values as follows
x1=6; y1=2
x2=-3; y2=1
mp = , = , is the mid-point
:
;
4)Find (a) the slope and (b) the y-intercept of the line with the equation 4x+2y=6.
Convert to the slope intercept form y = mx-b
4x + 2y = 6
2y = -4x + 6
divide both sides by 2
y = -2x + 3
(a) slope: -2
(b) y intercept + 3

chances for math errors here.
