Graph the line with slope 2 that passes through (1,2)

Use the point-slope formula for the equation of the line that
passes through (x1,y1) with slope = m:

                y - y1 = m(x - x1)

(x1,y1) = (1,2) and m = 2

                 y - 2 = 2(x - 1)

                 y - 2 = 2x - 2

                     y = 2x

To graph it, plot the given point (1,2)

Then find a couple more points. Choose say x = 0, then y = 2(0) = 0,
so plot (0,0)

Then choose say x = -2, then y = 2(-2) = -4 so plot (-2,-4)

Then draw a straight line through them and you have
