Hi,
Using the point-slope formula, to determine the slope

Points (-2, -3) and (2, -5)
m = -5 - (-3) / 2 - (-2) = -2/4 = -(1/2)
the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line: y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept m = -(1/2)
y = -(1/2)x + b Using ordered pair pt(2,-5) to solve for b
-5 = -1 = b
-4 = b
y = -(1/2)x -4 pt(0,-4) the y intercept
