Question 376345: y=3x-1;(1,2),(-1,-4),(2,3) Determine whether or not the given ordered pairs are solutions to the given equation. How do I do this?
Answer by user_dude2008(1862) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(1,2) ---> x=1, y=2
y=3x-1
2=3(1)-1
2=2
(1,2) is a solution
(-1,-4) ---> x=-1, y=-4
y=3x-1
-4=3(-1)-1
-4=-4
(-1,-4) is a solution
(2,3) ---> x=2, y=3
y=3x-1
3=3(2)-1
3=5
(2,3) is not a solution
