Okay to do this problem, you will first need the simplify the equation into point slope form. To do this you will:
Use different properties.
To start you will: 3x-2y-3x=4-3x
You do this because what you do to one side, you must do to the other.
Then you will have the equation: 2y=4-3x
Then you must divide the whole equation by 2 because to have point slope form, y must not have anything trying to multiply it.
2y/2=4/2-(3x)/2
From there you have: y=2-1.5x or y=2-(1/2x)
With this, we know the slope of the new equation because all parallel lines contain the same slope. Next you will do an equaion clled Point-Slope Form of an Equation:
To do this you will take y-y1=m(x-x1)(The y1 is the point that you were given[1] and x1 is the x point you were given [-2]) Also m is the slope: -1/2
Then you plug the numbers in:
y-1=-1/2(x--2)
Simplified it is:
y-1=-1/2x-1
y=-1/2x
And that is your final equaiton:
y=-1/2x
