standard form of (-5,2); m=2/5
---
Form: y = mx+b; solve for "b":
2 = (2/5)(-5) + b
---
2 = -2 + b
b = 4
----
Equation:
y = (2/5)x + 4
----
Multiply thru by 5 to get:
5y = 2x+20
---
Standard Form
2x - 5y = -20

Answer by mananth(16949)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=mx +b
2=2/5*-2+b
2=-4/5+b
b=2+4/5
b=14/5
y=2/5*x+14/5
y=2x+14 /5
5y=2x+14
2x-5y+14=0
