Answer by user_dude2008(1862)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0x + 2y = 14
2y = 14
y=7

11x+10y=147
11x+10(7)=147
11x+70=147
11x=147-70
11x=77
x=7
Answers: x=7, y=7

Even though it says to use the elimination method, we don't need to cancel out any variables here. Notice that the second equation is . This is the same as writing . Divide both sides by 2 to get . Then you can plug y=7 into the first equation to make become . Then you get . Subtract 70 from both sides to get . Divide both sides by 11 to get . So, y=7 and x =7. I hope this helps!
