Hi,
Note: perpendicular lines have slopes that are negative reciproclas of one another
line perpendicular to y = 3x - 5 would have a slope -1/3
Using slope intercept form of an equation for that line
y = (-1/3)x + b
Using Pt(4,-2) to find b
-2 = (-1/3)*4 + b
-2/3 = b
Line is y = (-1/3)x - (2/3)
