the maximum number of decimals in the equation = 1
so multiply by 10
2x+30=4(x-1)
2x+30=4x-4
4x-2x=30+4
2x=34
x= 17
.....
If in the equation maximum digit after decimal is 2 multiply by 100
If 3 , multiply by 1000.

Distribute and multiply.


Subtract from both sides.


Subtract from both sides.


Combine like terms on the left side.
