Question 342204: find the standard from of the equation of the line that passes through the points (-5, -8) and (3,2)
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(-5, -8) and (3,2)
slope of the line m = for (x1,y1), (x2,y2)
m= 5/4
..
y= mx+b
plug value of x,y of any point in the equation.
2=5/4 * 3 +b
2=15/4+b
2-15/4 =b
(8-15)/4 = b
-7/4 =b
y= 5x/4 -7/4 is the required equation
