Answer by xcentaur(357)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3(x-4)=2(x-8)+5x
open the brackets
3x-12=2x-16+5x
3x-12=7x-16
taking everything to one side
3x-12-7x+16=0
remember on taking terms to the other side,their sign reverses
now we get
-4x+4=0
-4x=-4
x=1
