Problem: Passes through (3, 0), perpendicular to a line whose slope is 3/2
I think you use the "point slope" formula on this one, but I'm not sure. When I tried it, it came out all wrong, so it'd be nice for anyone to help. Thank you!

Any line that is perpendicular to a line with a slope of will have a slope of (flip the fraction and change the sign)

So our perpendicular line has a slope of and goes through the point (3, 0)

Now we can use the point slope formula to find the equation of the line. The point slope formula is:

where is the slope, and

is the given point

Plug in , , and

Simplify.

Distribute

Multiply and to get

So the equation of the line is
