Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+3y=7
2x-y=1
-----------
Solve 2nd for "y":
y = 2x-1
----
Substitute for "y" in 1st and solve for "x":
4x+3(2x-1) = 7
4x+6x-3 = 7
10x = 10
x = 1
-------
Substitute into y = 2x-1 to solve for "y":
y = 2*1-1 = 1

Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=2x-1
replace y in the first equation by (2x-1) & solve for x.
4x+3(2x-1)=7
4x+6x-3=7
10x=7+3
10x=10
x=1 ans.
y=2*1-1
y=2-1
y=1 ans.
Proof:
4*1+3*1=7
4+3=7
7=7
