Question 331430: how do i get 3x-8y+24=0 into y= form

                             3x - 8y + 24 =   0

Add -3x to both sides-->    -3x             -3x
-------------------------------------------------
                                 -8y + 24 = -3x

Add -24 to both sides                 -24 =     - 24
----------------------------------------------------
                                 -8y      = -3x - 24

Divide both sides by -8 -->          =

Cancel the 's on the left =

                                        =

Factor -3 out of the top: =

Cancel the negative signs:              =

                                        =
