Question 33021: I need help understanding how to get an equation of Ax+By=C from and equation Y=mx+b and viceversa. I am not understanding what do I have to do to get the results needed. The book I have does not explain the process neither there is a chapter in the book that teaches you how to do it. I know how to get the slope, y and x intercept. Example. y=1/3x-2 How can this be translated to Ax+By=C.
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Multiply thru by "3" to get 3y=x-6
Rearrange to get x-3y=6
A=1, B=-3, C=6
