Is (3,5) a point on the line 2x + 3y=6?
.
(3, 5) is an ordered pair of (x,y)
So,
x=3 and y=5
To check whether the point is on the line, plug it into:
2x + 3y=6
2(3) + 3(5)=6
6 + 15=6
21=6 (not true)
.
Therefore, (3,5) is NOT a point on the line.
