Set x=0 then solve for y.

For example, let's say you wanted to find the y-intercept of 4x -2y = 14

4x -2y = 14
4(0) -2y = 14
-2y = 14
y = -7

The y-intercept is -7.

how do you find the y-intercept?
the y-intercept or vertical-intercept or the point (0,b) is where the line crosses the y-axis
if you see a line in the form of y=mx+b, or slope-intercept form, the y-intercept is at the point (o,b), m is the slope
