7x - y = 24
x = 2y + 9

Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
7x - y = 24
x = 2y + 9
7(2Y+9)-Y=24
14Y+63-Y=24
13Y=24-63
13Y=-39
Y=-39/13
Y=-3 ANS.
X=2*-3+9
X=-6+9
X=3 ANS.
PROOF:
7*3-(-3)=24
21+3=24
24=24
