on cross multiplying we get ..

24/32 * 40 = n
on solving this we get..
n = 30
Now if you want to verify you answer ,,,you can put the values of x and y in any of the equation and if you get LHS=RHS,,,this means that you answer is correct..(here u must also put the LHS into standarad form )..if you are unable to verify,,contact at my link....
