Question 303684: y+9=3x-2y+6
5-3x+5y=-2x+4y+3 solve by addition

Answer by london maths tutor(243)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y+9=3x-2y+6
y + 2y = 3x + 6 -9
3y = 3x - 3
y = x -1 .... equation 1
5-3x+5y=-2x+4y+3
5y - 4y = 2x + 3x - 5 + 3
y = 5x - 2 ... equation 2
Equation 1 = Equation 2
x - 1 = 5x - 2
2 - 1 = 5x - x
1 = 4x
x = 1/4
when x = 1/4 ;

Answer: x = 1/4 and y = -3/4
