Question 303413: Calculating the slope of a line-How do you know if a slope is negative or positive.I know it says if the graph goes up from left to right, the slope is positive. If the line goes down from left to right, the slope is negative but looking at the graph I do not understand how to tell.
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20056)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

If the line slants like this / it goes UP from left to right.

If the line slants like this \ it goes DOWN from left to right.

You can look at a graph and tell whether it looks more like

this / or more like \, can't you?
