You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-8>6

Add 8 to both sides:
x > 14 is the answer.

Draw a straight line and mark off the numbers on it (include 14).

Either draw a ring or a filled in circle at x=14 to denote "greater than"...your book will tell you the symbol to use. Then highlight the number line from 14 above ie 15, 16, 17, 18, etc.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x-8>6. ----(1)
Adding 8 to both the sides
(x-8)+8 > 6 +8
x-8+8 >14
x+0>14
x>14
Draw a horizontal line. This is going to be our number line.
Mark a point O on it and this O is the point on the number line
that represents the number zero.
Measure on some scale (say cm scale)14 cms and with O as centre
and radius = 14 cms draw an arc to the right of O on the number line
to cut the number line at P
All points on the number line to the right of this point P
represent our set of points x
