Solv for x: 2(x+1)>12
2(x+1)>12
Dividing by 3
(x+1) > 6 (multiplying or dividing by a positive quantity does not alter the inequality and hence greater than remains greater than)
x>6-1 (subtracting 1 from both the sides)
x > 5
Answer: x>5

Solve for x: 2(x + 1) > 12
