Question 289844: How many ordered pairs (x; y) of positive integers x and y satisfy the equation
3x+5y = 80?

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
when x=0 y=16
when y=0 x=80/3=28.8
so the positive y has to be less than 16 and the positive x has to be less than 29
3x+5y=80
x must be a multiple of 5 less than 29
there are five possible positive integer solutions
