Question 27872: I have tried to solve this problem The equation y=0.79x+10 can be used to determine the cost y of purchasing x sheets of gift-wrap from a catalog. What is the y-intercept of this equation? I think it's (0,10)or (0,0.79).

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It's the first one, (0,10) when you have an equation written in y=mx%2Bb this is called slope intercept form, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept, which is to say the point where the line crosses the y-axis and x is 0. So yes, for y=0.79x+10 the y-intercept is 10.
