Question 278650: Help solving x-y=-1
steps I've worked:
-y=-x-1
y=x-1

Very good job but the answer is y = x + 1.
When you divided both sides of the equation by -1, you forgot that (-x - 1) is completely divided by -1. What is a negative divided by a negative?
The answer is positive, right?
So, the answer is y = x + 1.
