Question 256716: can you help me find the slope passing through the points (1,-1),(1,3)
Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Yes, I can.
Will I? I haven't decided.
3-(-1)/(1-1)=m
This is x=1 has its slope is undefined/undecided. It is a vertical line. [If the numerator were 0 then it would be a slope of 0. ]
Notice that x is 1 in both points so there is no change and thus the denominator
rise/run=0 which is undefined.
