Question 252026: I did not post my questions correctly:
The problem is to state the domain of each function:
f(x) = 2x+3 if x <4
x^2-1 if 4 < x< 10
and my second problem was: for the function f(x)=0, find
a. f(4) b.f(-3) c. f(2.7) d. f(-4.9)
I am sorry I did not post correctly. Can you help me?

Answer by MRperkins(300)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Ok, I think you are having some difficulty understanding your problems. I would like to talk to you and help talk you through some of these problems.
The Domain is all possible x values of the function. They tell you what the domain is when they say that x<4. I think that maybe you are supposed to find the range, which is all possible y values.
.
Second, if f(x)=0 is your function, then f(4) will equal zero and anything that you put in for x will be equal to zero.
.
It is possible that the book is trying to reinforce this concept, but I am hesitant to believe this question is written correctly.
.
Please let me help you better understand these problems.

Do you want your math questions answered quickly and completely? Do you want to ask follow up questions like, “How do you do that?” or “Why did you do that?”? Email your questions to justin.sheppard.tech@hotmail.com and I will answer your questions within 12 hours of submission (usually within 2-3 hours of submission). I charge $2 per question and I will provide a .pdf file of the problem worked out. I will also offer to discuss the problem with you over the phone, through skype, or via an online whiteboard. Payments to be made securely through PayPal AFTER you are satisfied with the answer and services that I provide. This eliminates the possibility of being scammed (worst case scenario is that I provide you with your answer and you don’t pay me).
